Jane E. Bishop, 67, died peacefully December 10, 2025 at her home in Orrington with her husband Robert and mother Betty by her bedside, after a long battle with cancer. She was born February 10, 1958 in Bangor, Maine, the daughter of Joan (Betty) E. (Dixon) Ring and Theodore C. Ring.
Jane attended Orrington schools and graduated from Brewer High School, class of 1976. She attended the University of Maine in Orono and Southern Maine, receiving a BS degree in Nursing. Jane was employed by Eastern Maine Medical Center beginning her career in orthopedics. Jane later joined and grew with the EMMC information systems group. Perhaps her greatest satisfaction was the "Dream Team" of Gene, Teri, and Jane in the Revenue Cycle team solving problems every day. Jane held the lead position of EMMC chargemaster.
Jane was a long time dedicated and active member of the Second Congregational church in Brewer.
Jane loved her time at their 2nd home on Toddy Pond, surrounded by nature and beloved labradors and Maine Coon cats. Other pleasures included cooking, gardening, and spending hours with Mom and Dad, and brother James and Barbara at their Toddy camps. Jane was an avid fan of New England sports and UM Hockey. She was also an accomplished boat operator while her husband would fish.
Jane's greatest joys always involved family. Vacation Cruises, Holiday gatherings, Sports car rides, Birthday celebrations are just a few examples.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Robert G Bishop and her mother, Joan (Betty) Ring, are her brothers, James Ring and his wife Barbara, and Gregory Ring and his wife Kathy. Additionally, she is survived by many special nieces and nephews. Jane was also predeceased by her father, Theodore C. Ring in 1998.
