ORRINGTON – James L. Watkins, 76, died October 8, 2017 at the Reading Hospital, in Reading, PA following a brief illness. He was born March 26, 1941 in East Millinocket, son of Charles A. and Letitia (Mitchell) Watkins.
Jim was a graduate of Leavitt Institute, Turner and the University of Maine, Orono with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and employed by International Paper Co. of Bucksport for many years.
Surviving are his wife, Sarah Anne Watkins of Orrington; two children, Deborah Watkins of Ann Arbor, MI and John Watkins of Orrington; three grandchildren, Juliet, Gwenivere, and Xander; one brother, David Watkins of Turner; nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 11 am Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 South Main Street, Brewer. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Brewer Reception Rooms of Brookings-Smith, immediately following the service.
