James "Jim" Brooks, 84, passed away unexpectedly January 17, 2025, after a brief illness.
He was born in Bradley, January 5, 1941 the son of Loren "Doc" C. and Martha"Daisy" (Harriman) Brooks.
He served in the US Army. Jim was employed by the Foundry in Old Town, the Pie Plate, Old Town and lastly the paper mill Old Town as a supervisor and trainer.
He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hours on Pushaw Lake. Jim was a skilled woodworker building cedar canoes with his loving wife.
He was predeceased by his wife Gail C. Brooks, a brother, Raymond, two great grandchildren, Stanley Honnell and Mason Boobar.
Surviving are two daughters, Tammy Patterson and husband, Scott, Celestia McLain and husband Steve; six grandchildren, Kristian Emery and husband Kenneth, Tyler Ellingwood, James Patterson, Benjamin Honnell and wife, Sensi, Elizabeth Honnell, Joey McLain; four great grandchildren, Elaina, Jacob, Tyler, Jr. and Eric; sister, Martha "Celestia" Young.
Special thank you to Jim's close high school friend, Don Cox who was a vital support to Jim and his family in his last days.
The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor 2 pm to 4 pm Saturday, January 25, 2025.
