Irene Thomas Trundy

Irene Trundy, 89 died after a long illness on August 27, 2026 at Mount Saint Joseph nursing home. She was born on May 18, 1937 in Rumford Maine, the daughter of John Wallace Thomas and Gertrude Chapman Thomas.

Irene graduated from Mexico High School, Mexico, Maine class of 1955. She married her high school sweetheart, Bruce Trundy in Tangier Africa where she and Bruce lived for a while as Bruce was in the Navy, then they resided in Maine; they were married for 43 years.

Irene completed courses to get her CNA and worked at Brewer Convalescent for several years.

She and Bruce raised 4 children, Cynthia Trundy D'Amboise, Christopher Neil Trundy, Catherine Anne Trundy Dey, and Mark Allen (Zachary David) Trundy and is survived by all her children, 18 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Irene was predeceased by her parents and brother, John.

A small memorial will be held in her honor at the home of her daughter Cynthia at 1221 Pushaw Road, Glenburn officiated by Aaron Martin, pastor of Maine Coast Baptist Church in Ellsworth Maine from 2-4pm on September 19th.

Praise and glory be to our Heavenly Father. Irene is whole and healthy in the eternal arms of Jesus and with loved believers gone on before her.
