Hampden - Irene McCurdy Bryant, 96, passed away on May 11, 2026, in Bangor. She was born February 4, 1930, in Lubec, Maine, the daughter of Arthur R. and Evelyn (Creath) McCurdy of Lubec.
Irene graduated from St. Joseph Academy and Westbrook Junior College, both in Portland, Maine. She met her future husband, David B. Bryant, in Portland, and they married on October 31, 1959. They had two daughters, Kimberly and Lynn. Irene worked as a real estate broker for over 50 years. She loved playing golf with her many friends and family.
In addition to her parents, Irene was predeceased in life by her husband, David Bryant, her grandchild, Caroline C. Morgan, along with her siblings, Eugene McCurdy, Margaret Cook, Catherine Warren, Marion Ross, John McCurdy, and Elizabeth Mae McCurdy.
Irene is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Morgan and her husband, Stuart Morgan of Columbia, South Carolina, and Lynn Hussey and her husband, Jeffrey Hussey of Longmeadow, Massachusetts, along with her grandchildren, William Morgan IV, David (Walker) Morgan, Caitlin Hussey, Connor Hussey, Charles (Chase) Hussey, and Kevin Hussey. Irene is also survived by her sister, Carolyn Ray of Falmouth, Maine.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Friday, June 19, 2026, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John's Catholic Church, 207 York Street, Bangor. Private internment will be held at the Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta with her husband, David.
Those who wish to remember Irene in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 32105.
