HAMPDEN - Following the footsteps and the path he made, shining a light so she could see; Freda joined her late husband, Donald Wincey Davis, on October 4, 2026, to be at his side forever.
She was born Helen Alfreda Severance on May 28, 1932, in Passadumkeag, Maine, the youngest daughter of Frank and Annie (Linscott) Severance.
Freda married the love of her life, Donald W. Davis-son of the late Arthur and Goldia Davis of Des Moines, Iowa-on June 1, 1952, at the Passadumkeag Baptist Church. Together, they were blessed with three cherished sons: Scott, Richard, and Robert.
Freda attended Passadumkeag and Howland schools before pursuing training as an Operating Room Technician in Waterville and at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. She later graduated from St. Joseph's School of Nursing. Over her dedicated career, she worked at Eastern Maine Medical Center for 38 years, as well as 11 years with the office of Dr. William Deighan and Dr. Daniel McCarthy.
In her later years, Freda found great joy in watching Maine hockey, attending music jams, and spending quiet time at home.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Donald, Freda was predeceased by six brothers and five sisters, as well as a very special friend, Robert E. LePage, of Glenburn.
She is survived by her sons, Scott D. Davis, Richard T. Davis and his wife, Katherine, and Robert A. Davis and his wife, Theresa; her grandchildren, Erin Davis, Kendra Bird, Kerri Davis, Brandon Davis, and Oriana Blakely; and six great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. Relatives and friends attending are asked to gather just prior to the service at the Superintendent's Lodge, 1048 State Street, Bangor, to process together.
