Grace Parker

September 4, 1935 — December 15, 2025

Grace Ann Parker, 90, died peacefully on December 15, 2025, surrounded by her son and daughter, after a brief illness. She was born on September 4, 1935 in Bangor, the daughter of Charles and Margaret (Gillispie) Tuck. She was a graduate of Bangor High School, class of 1954. She married the love of her life, Gilman M. Parker, on June 8, 1956. They moved to Orrington in 1960 and that is where they stayed for the next 35 years while raising their family. Grace worked at WT Grant for three years before becoming a homemaker while raising her children. She returned to work in 1973 at the Broadway McDonalds, retiring in 1997. She volunteered for many years at the Ronald McDonald House in Bangor. She and Gil enjoyed snowmobiling and camping in their younger years, until they bought their camp on Bottle Lake in Lakeville, ME, in 1972. Then weekends and vacations were spent at the lake unless they were traveling or going on cruises with many different family and friends. Once they retired, they spent summers at the lake and winters in Nokomis, FL., where they made and maintained many great friendships. Grace was an avid candlepin bowler, competing for many years in Brewer.

Grace is survived by son, Michael G. Parker and wife, Wanda, of Old Town; daughter, Cheryl M. Nelson and husband, Jeffrey, of Hampden; foster daughter, Penny T. Bisping of Minnesota; seven grandchildren, Ashley, Michael, Emily, Joseph, Jennifer, Brandon, and Candy; seventeen great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Richard Tuck and wife, Lorraine, of Eddington; brother-in-law, Melvin Coffin of Milford.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Gilman Parker in 2016; siblings, Warren Young and wife, Irene, Gloria Spencer and husband, Charles, Charles "Bill" Tuck and wife, Ethel, and Sylvia "Jane" Coffin.
