Gloria Drummond

Gloria Sobut Drummond, 89, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025 at her home. She was born in Rumford, Maine, the daughter of Peter and Monica (Masalsky) Sobut.

Gloria graduated from Mexico High School in 1953, and Eastern Maine General Hospital in 1956. She married Thomas S. Drummond on August 17, 1957. They celebrated 60 years of marriage. Gloria and Thomas spent many enjoyable summers at camp on Phillips Lake in Dedham, Maine. They wintered in Cocoa Beach, Florida.

Gloria retired in 1999 as Wellness Center Manager at Penobscot Job Corps.

Gloria is survived by her daughter, Jane Drummond of Lantana, FL.; sons, Thomas Drummond Jr. and his wife, Beth, of Veazie, ME., and Peter Drummond of Breckenridge, CO.; brother-in-law, John Drummond and his wife, Linda Drummond, of Tampa, FL.; grandchildren, Alexandra, Catherine, Hannah, Thomas, and Elizabeth; three great-grandchildren, Taylor, Sidney, and Jack.

A private service will be held at The Drummond Family Cemetery, Winslow, ME.
