Bangor, Maine - Gary W. Spaulding, 76, died after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease on June 25, 2025, at Bangor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born October 27, 1948, in Bangor, Maine, the son of Owen F. and Mildred H. (Connelly) Spaulding.
Gary graduated from Bangor High School, class of 1967. Following graduation, he served with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Charles P. Cecil (DDR-835) during the Vietnam War. After the war, he married Jeanne Desjardins and they eventually settled in Levant, Maine. Gary completed additional studies at Eastern Maine Technical College in the field of drafting and design. Gary had several successful careers ranging from the Maine Central Railroad to the United States Postal Service. Gary was a loyal member of the Bangor Elks Club (B.P.O.E. #244) of Bangor, and a lifelong Checker Cab car enthusiast.
Surviving Gary, are his sons, Benjamin Spaulding and his wife, Amanda, of Brunswick, and Jeremiah Spaulding of Westbrook; brother, Leon Spaulding and his wife, Marlee, of Hermon; sister, Paula Davis and her husband, David, of Camden, New York; grandchildren, Grant and Vivian; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5-7 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2025, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A private interment will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor.
