ORONO- Frederick Stalter Sr., 86, passed away March 2, 2020 from complications of a lengthy battle with Dementia. He was born on January 27, 1934 in New York the son of Peter Stalter and Maude Roosa.

He was a Veteran, and Aircraft Mechanic at DOW Air Force Base, in Bangor until 1958. Then he started a family and moved back to New York for a time, before relocating again to Maine. Frederick worked for nearly 20 years at Dysarts in Hermon.
In addition to his parents, Frederick was predeceased by a brother, Peter Stalter Jr., and three sisters, Helen Therian, Elizabeth Ellis, and Pearl Dembik.

He is survived by his children, all of whom are also veterans, daughters, Helen Patricia Stalter-Santiago and Annette Stalter-Kuhn, both of Texas; sons, Frederick Stalter Jr., Joseph David Stalter, and Robert William Stalter, all of Maine; brothers, John Stalter, and Arthur Stalter; sister, Ruth Cotrange; eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service with military honors will be held 1:00PM Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Augusta. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com
