Frank R. Menkin

It is with sadness that the family of Frank Menkin announces his death on December 6, 2025. Yet we are filled with hope and consolation because of the promises of eternal life given to us by Jesus Christ our Lord.
Frank was born September 2, 1940 in Elmhurst, New York, the son of Arthur H. and Goldye (Wagner) Menkin. In 1950, the family moved to Rye, New York. Frank graduated from Rye High School in 1958. He majored in music, specializing in voice at Cornell University, graduating in 1962. The memory of Frank's beautiful voice, lifted in song to the Lord will remain in the minds and hearts of all who heard him.
In 1966, Frank married Frances M. Merrihew. They spent nearly 60 blessed years together. He was utterly devoted to his family.
Most of Frank's working years were in computer technology, the last 12 years with the Maine State office of the USDA in Bangor, Maine, until 2015.
Frank was a deeply sincere man whose journey through life was spent seeking the will of God. He rejoiced in the truth. Frank was a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Parish in Bangor, Maine (St. John's Church) for 26 years, where he enjoyed the privilege of serving as an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion.
Frank was predeceased by his parents and his sister June C. Menkin. He is survived by his devoted wife Fran, their three children: Franklin R. Menkin, Jr., Joshua C. Menkin (Joyce) and Sarah M. Menkin. He is also survived by his brother Robert B. Menkin (Donna) and their children and grandchild, 13 grandchildren: Elyshia Menkin, Ryan Menkin (Rebecca), Jennifer (Menkin) Glick (Matthew), Audrey (Menkin) Prowant (Joshua), Jordan Menkin (Laura), Zachary Menkin, Jared Menkin, Alyssa Menkin, Cherry Menkin, Melody Menkin, Spencer Menkin, Spring Menkin and Caroline Menkin, and 7 great-grandchildren: Emily, Bethel and Eleanor Glick; Woodland, Betsy and Madelyn Prowant and Ethan Menkin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John's Catholic Church, 217 York St., Bangor, followed by a gathering for conversation and refreshments in the parish hall. The Rite of committal will be held in the spring at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor.
