THORNDIKE - Francis (Frank) J. Boltrom, 90, passed away peacefully at his home on June 3, 2025, with his wife of 60 years at his side.

Frank was born in New Milford, Connecticut on July 16, 1934. The son of Charles Joseph & Mary Madeline (Chumcha). He attended New Milford schools, then went on to study Mechanical Design at Henry Abbott Technical School, graduating in 1955. He worked on the Talos missile project until he was drafted into the Army from 1957-1959. He also served 2 years active Reserve and another 2 years inactive Reserve. During his career he worked on the development of laser, sonar, microchip and ion implant machines. The last few years of his career were spent at MIT in Massachusetts, until his retirement.

Frank is survived by his wife, Sharon (Craven) Boltrom; sisters, Alice Pollard and Maryanne Haywood; step-daughter, Terry Marino; daughter, Michelle Poole and her husband, Douglas; grandchildren, Shannon Ring, Brent Davis, Devin Poole and Lauren Lynch, as well as 5 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by his siblings John Boltrom, Cecelia Anderson, Helen Boltrom, Kathryn Rosati, and Madeline Gale.

Funeral Prayers and the Rite of Committal will be prayed at 11:00a.m., Monday, June 9, 2025, at Lakeview Cemetery, Hampden. A gathering will immediately follow at the Goodwill Riders Snowmobile Club, 844 Western Ave. in Hampden. Condolences to the family may be expressed here, at BrookingsSmith.com.
