BANGOR - Ervin J. Hill, 87, passed away October 28, 2026, at his home. He was born June 5, 1939, in Winthrop, New York, the son of Glen and Doris Hill.
Ervin proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, enlisting on his 17th birthday. He served for a total of six years, four of which were active duty, spending most of his service at Hickam Air Force Base and earning a distinguished sharpshooter patch.
Following his military service, Ervin owned and operated his own drilling and blasting company, proudly serving the entire state of Maine for over forty years. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting with his friends-putting his sharpshooter background to good use-primarily in Corinth.
In addition to his parents, Ervin was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lorraine P. Hill.
He is survived by his partner and sweetheart, Marcia Young; his stepchildren, Greg Hodges and Michelle Giard; and his grandson, Josh Hodges.
From the day he came home until his passing, Marcia's son, Charles, remained constantly by his side, helping in any way he could. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Beacon Hospice for their compassionate and dedicated care.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2026, at the Corinthian Cemetery in Corinth. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com.
