Edmond "Eddie" Theophile Gosselin Sr.

Clermont, FL and Bangor - Edmond "Eddie" Theophile Gosselin Sr., lovingly known as "Dede" to his grandchildren, passed away peacefully on his 84th birthday, surrounded by family.

Born in Bangor, Maine, on July 12, 1942, he was the son of Harvey and Dorothy(Briggs) Gosselin. He attended St. John's Catholic School and John Bapst Catholic High School, soon after, he married the love of his life, Marguerite "Maggie" Frances (McKenzie) Gosselin. Together they shared 53 beautiful years of marriage, raised three children, and built a family that was his greatest joy. Eddie began his career working alongside his family at Gosselin's Bakery. He later built a respected career in banking with Time Finance, Merrill Trust, Fleet Bank, and Bank of America. He worked in real estate with his brother at Gosselin Realty before continuing with Parkway Realty and Realty World, First Realty. Later in life he worked for the National Park Service as a volunteer at Big Cypress National Preserve.

Family meant everything to Eddie. He loved gathering with those he cared about, who were always welcome in his home, which was filled with warmth and delicious food. He had a gift for making people feel loved and valued. With his generous heart, playful nature, and unforgettable hugs, he offered encouragement, comfort, and unconditional love to all. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, protector, mentor, and friend.

Eddie is survived by his son, Edmond T. Gosselin Jr. and wife, Heidi; his daughters, Tricia Quirk and husband, Bob, and Michelle Hawes and husband, Aaron; his grandchildren, Kaylee Goodie and husband, Brian; Lindsay Thayer and husband, Tyler; Aaron "AJ" Hawes and wife, Erica; and Cody Hawes and significant other, Baileigh. He also leaves behind his seven beloved greatgrandchildren: Skyler, Addie, Miley, Jackson, Nolan, Blair, and Cole.

Later in life, Eddie found happiness with his special companion, Robin Krier, traveling the world and enjoying time in Florida and Maine. He became a cherished part of Robin's family, including daughter Roxanne "Roxy" Karyil, husband Patriek, and their daughters, Emma and Ella.

He is survived by his sisters, Deborah Buswell and husband, Rodney; Terry Tweedie and husband, Allan; sister-in-law, Lorraine Gosselin, sister-in-law, Patsy Reed; brother-in-law, Marty McKenzie and wife, MJ; dear friends who became family, Ganesha Santhyadka, wife Sadvi, and their daughters Anya, and Nuthi; and, many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and treasured friends.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Maggie; his cherished daughter, Deborah "Debbie" Gosselin; his parents; his brothers, Harvey Gosselin and wife, Annette; and, Dewey Gosselin; his sister, Marie Milan, and husband, Charlie; brother-in-law David Reed, and, his dear friends, Dodo and Dudley Bouchard.

Our hearts are broken, but we are deeply grateful for the love, kindness, generosity, and devotion he shared so freely. Eddie ended every conversation with three simple words: "I love you." The hardest lesson he leaves us with is learning how to say goodbye.

Family and friends are invited to call 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, July 30th, 2026 at Brookings Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a celebration of Eddie's life and an opportunity for those who wish to share memorial words and loving stories will be held at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Eddie's memory by showing kindness to someone in need, holding your loved ones a little closer, and never leaving words of love unspoken.
