Holden, Maine - Dwayne L. Hall, 81, died unexpectedly October 13, 2025, at a Bangor nursing home. He was born January 7, 1944, in Presque Isle, the son of Ronald L. Hall and Leona P. (McDonald) Hall.
Dwayne attended school in Carmel Junior and High School. He began working as a fuel delivery man, for Bradstreet Fuel in 1966 and remained there until the late-80s. While working for Bradstreet Fuel, he worked with the Coast Guard who delivered fuel by tankers to the water front, where containers were. In the summers, he worked for Campbell Construction. In 1967, he married his childhood sweetheart, Donna Cantwell, and settled in Holden. They celebrated 58 years of marriage on June 10. Dwayne was a loyal member of the Holden Congregational Church, serving several terms as a deacon. Dwayne was an avid hunter, just like his father. He took his 4-year-old nephew, Christopher, hunting and teaching him safe hunting practices and rules.
Dwayne enjoyed watching TV shows; Wagon Train, Law & Order, Price is Right, and anything with John Wayne or Clint Eastwood in the show.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Donna, is his daughter, Suzanne Hall of Bangor; sister, Jennifer Hall of Florida; brother, Larry Hall and his wife, Sandra, of Levant; sister-in-law, Debra Taggett, of Hampden; nieces, Chasity and partner, Jessi, of Milford, Kim and her husband, Steve, of Hermon, and Loretta, of Hermon; nephews, George and his wife, Erica, of Hermon, and Christopher and his partner, Alyssa, of Old Town; great-nieces, Alexis Dowling of Bangor, Michaela and Ciyenna, of Old Town, and Kenzie and Micah of Corinna; great-nephew, John Dowling of Milford; special friends, Danny (best buddy), James, Lori, Reggie (best man), Nick Sargent, Jane, Jay and Kim (best neighbors); and grand-kitties, Possum and Millie.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Holden Congregational Church, 9 Rider Bluff Rd., Holden, immediately followed by a procession to Hart's Corner Cemetery, Holden.
