Dorothy E. "Dottie" Anderson

HAMPDEN/NEWBURGH - Dorothy E. "Dottie" Anderson, 103, passed away peacefully December 13, 2025, at a Bangor hospital. She was born January 3, 1922, in Hampden, the daughter of Herbert R. and Lottie M. (Vinal) Porter.

Dottie was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother and friend to many. She was an avid gardener; canning and stocking shelves faithfully, until the age of 102. She also enjoyed the outdoors; fishing at camp at Swan Lake. She also enjoyed playing Bingo at the Senior Citizens Group and Roe Village, in Hampden.

Dottie served her local community, volunteering at the Senior Citizens Group in Hampden and served as the Grand Marshall of the 2019 Hampden Children's Day Parade.

In addition to her parents, Dottie was predeceased by her husband, Irving H. Anderson; daughter, Louise Anderson; great-grandson, Brandon and her siblings, Eva, Carl, Ronald and Albert. She is survived by her daughters, Eva Brown and Irvina Porter and her husband, Stephen and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are welcome to call from 5-7p.m., Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 45 Western Ave, Hampden, where a funeral service will be held at 2:00p.m., Friday, December 19. All are invited to share conversation and refreshments immediately following the service, at the funeral home.
