Doris Louise (Young) Lindsay, 97, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2020 at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born May 13, 1923, in Carroll, ME the daughter of Frank E. and Millie M. (Bowker) Young. Doris was a member of the Good Sam’s Club, Leisure Living Travel Coast-To-Coast Club, and the National Square Dance Camper Assoc. She loved to travel and has been to every state in the United States. Doris was also a member of the Riverside Grange as well as a longtime member of the N. Brewer-Eddington United Methodist Church. She was a fastidious housekeeper and a great cook. Doris enjoyed working with her hands making crafts, knitting, and crocheting. There are many good memories of playing cards with her friends or a good game of Bingo. Doris was dearly loved by her family and will be sadly missed. She is survived by her children, Barbara Hay and husband Dee of Arkansas, Pamella Pierce and husband David of Brewer, Gail Rice of Brewer; a son-in-law, David McLeod of Hermon; grandchildren, Kimberley Pierce and husband Dan Botwinick, Michelle Hunt, Brian Pierce and wife Amy, Heather Gibson and husband Jason, Nicole Hachey and husband Todd, Andrew Rice and wife Jaime; eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband Louis, she was predeceased by children, Brian Lindsay and Carole McLeod, and all of her siblings. The family would like to thank the staff of Ross Manor and Beacon Hospice for all the care and compassion provided to Doris. Graveside services at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer, will be announced in the spring. Gifts in Doris’s memory may be sent to the N.
