Diane Shibles

BANGOR & BREWER – Diane Shibles, 70, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2013, at her residence. She was born April 1, 1943, in Bangor, the daughter of the late George V. and Frances M. (Green) Cuozzo. Diane grew up in Bangor and graduated from Bangor High School. She also graduated from Husson College with a bachelor in business, and was named “Outstanding woman”. During her life at college she joined and became president of the sorority Epsilon Tau Epsilon. She taught school from 1966-1972 and then she chose to stay at home to take care of her family. Diane was a very caring, considerate lady who put others ahead of herself. She would always try to make you feel important and she did this by listening attentively to a person when in conversation, or making sure everyone was having a good time and attended to when at her home. Her true joy was her family and she could never spend enough time with them. She was a best friend, wife, mother, grandmother, who will truly be missed but remembered with smiles. She leaves behind her loving husband Dennis Shibles of Bangor, two daughters, Mary Lynn (Shibles) Soucy and her husband Michael, and their two children Elise A. and Sophia F. Soucy of Hermon a daughter Myra Louise Shibles of Bangor. She will also be remembered by a special cousin John Stewart of Bar Harbor, and a close friend Margaret Libby of Bangor. Friends may call from 6-8 PM Thursday September 5, 2013 at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings & Smith. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Friday at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church. A committal will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
