Diane Mellott

January 20, 1947 — August 24, 2013

Carmel - Diane (Paine) Mellott, 66, passed to a better world on Aug 24, 2013. She was born Jan 20, 1947 in Bangor to her very loving and proud parents, Laurence and Norma (McMinn) Paine. Diane attended Oak Grove School in Vasselboro, and then attended beauty school in Brewer. While still in High School she met and fell in love with her husband Michael, and after graduation the couple were married in 1964. Following the birth of their son Kirk and with the lack of employment in Maine they decided to move to Connecticut where they resided for 14 years. A few months later they were blessed with the birth of their daughter Suzette. While living in Connecticut, together they started a trucking company which Diane managed while Michael was on the road between Connecticut and California. After the children were old enough Diane decided that is was time to raise the children in a different environment and they moved back to Maine. While raising the children and being the best mother possible she also managed the very prosperous trucking company, and after one of the trucks were charge a very unreasonable amount for towing, they decided to start a towing and roadside service business that would be geared to helping trucking companies and the general public to services at a fair and reasonable price. Diane spent many nights, weekends and holidays taking calls and dispatching services for stranded motorists. She only took one vacation in over 20 years. Diane even did this thru the waning time of her illness. The thing that Diane enjoyed the most in life was going to camp in Beddington and riding on her John Deere Gator with her two Dachshunds also known has “her boys”. In addition to her parents Diane was predeceased by her three brothers Joel, Errol, and Dale Paine; brother-in-law James Mellott and sister-in-law Mary Mellott. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years Michael Mellott; son Kirk Mellott; daughter Suzette Trennam; grandchildren Michaelle Kinney and Richard Trennam III; four great grand-children; mother in law Almeda Mellott; brothers and sister-in-laws Pauline Mellott, Daniel Mellott, and David Mellott; two very close cousins Larry and Debby Wark; cousin Ruth Paine; two very close friends Ernest Raymond and Diane Edwards. Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00pm Wednesday August 28, 2013 at Woodlawn Cemetery North Main Street, Brewer with the Rev. Marguerite A.H. Steadman, Rector, St, John’s Episcopal Church.
