She was an avid walker and was often seen taking long daily walks throughout Bangor which played an active role in her good health and longevity. Her favorite place on earth was Goose Rocks Beach in Kennebunkport where she enjoyed long daily walks along the beach and ocean. Throughout her life, she was a devout Christian and often attended daily mass. As her health declined and limited her walking, she often watched Mass on television's Catholic Channel.
