Colin Shields, 93, passed away, May 19, 2025 in Bangor.
He was born in Bangor August 7, 1931 the son of Hubert E. "Ted" and Harriet L. (Smith) Shields.
Colin operated his own small engine repair business in Carmel for many years. His passion was stock car racing, a hobby he enjoyed for over 65 years. He was proud to have received the award for the oldest and longest running stock car driver. Colin was a member of the Wicked Good Racing Association. He raced at Speedway 95, Hermon and Unity Raceway.
He was predeceased by his step-father, Ralph W. White, his mother and his wife, Priscilla (Mayhew) Shields.
Surviving are five children, Robert Shaw, Dale Shields, Keith Mayhew, Frank Shields, and Kathy Shields; three grandchildren, Gunnar Rosko, Benjamin Brown and Zack Mayhew; one sister, Gloria Shields; several cousins.
A graveside service will be held 1 pm Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Pine Grove Cemetery, Outer Hammond St., Bangor.
