Clifton Pottle, 85, passed away at his home on July 13, 2025. He was born in Alexander, Maine, on September 3, 1939, the son of Harold and Evelyn (Flood) Pottle. Cliff graduated from Shead Memorial High School in Eastport in 1957. He worked in construction and logging from 1958-1972. He formed Pottle Transportation in 1972 and operated it until he sold the business in 1988, when he moved to Florida.
Cliff belonged to the Odd Fellows in Pembroke, the Masonic Lodge #174 of Hermon, Bahia Shrine Club of Orlando, Florida, Bahia R.V. Club and Bahia Golf Unit (where he had two holes-in-one) of Orlando, Fl., West Volusia Shrine Club of Orlando, FL., and Anah Shriners of Bangor.
He loved bluegrass festivals, enjoyed camping and especially enjoyed driving trucks for an auction company in Daytona, Fl., and logging trucks in Southern Fl. He was very active in maintenance and rebuilding his church in Deland, FL., and shrine club in Volusia County, Fl.
Cliff leaves behind his wife, Nancy; son, Barry and his wife, Suzanne; daughter, Cindy; step-daughter, Lauren; six grandchildren, Rachel, Samantha, Chelsea, Matt, Daren, and Ryan; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Merrill and his wife, Joy, Basil and Sue; sister-in-law, Terri-Ann and her husband, Russell; many special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and grandson, Joshua Russell; and great grand-daughter, Charlee Berry.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call from 4-6pm Thursday, July 17, 2025 at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 45 Western Ave. Hampden.
