Clark A. Cole
Hermon
Clark Anthony Cole, 52, went to be with his Savior, on January 25, 2019, after battling cancer. He was born on September 19, 1966 in Orleans, France, the son of Alan P. and Lois R. (Gamble) Cole.
Clark graduated from Bangor Christian Schools, Class of 1984. He enlisted in the Maine Air National Guard on February 5, 1985, serving his career in Security Forces, retiring on August 31, 2009. He also worked as a part time police officer for Hampden, Newport and as a deputy for Penobscot County. He received his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice in 2009. He married his high school sweetheart, Brenda Sanders, on January 11, 1986 and settled in Hermon.
He is also survived by his son Anthony Alan and his wife, Laura (Pomerleau) and grandsons Liam and Alister; son Colby Dean; sister Michelle Cole, all of who reside in Hermon; brother, Eric Alan, Sr. and his wife Diana of Bangor; his niece Carrie (Cole) Jordan and her husband Jason of Hermon; and great nephews – Aiden, Zachary and Eric Alan, III. Clark is predeceased by nephew Eric Alan, Jr.
Clark enjoyed coaching and working with young athletes. He coached many teams through the years at Bangor Christian Schools– Jr. High Baseball, Varsity Boys Baseball, Varsity Boys Soccer, Varsity Girls Soccer and Varsity Girls Basketball. He also assisted in coaching Varsity Girls Basketball at Hermon High School. Umping became a passion after his coaching years ended. He enjoyed umping Little League in Hermon and also umpired for Jr. High, High School and Senior League Baseball.
Clark enjoyed many interests. He was a Mason – Past Master of Lynde Lodge # 174 A.F. & A.M., Hermon, Maine. He was currently serving as the Noble Grand for Triumph Lodge of the Odd Fellows # 119 Hermon, Maine and also a member of the American Legend. He was an avid sports enthusiast, enjoying many different sports. He loved Maine H.S. Basketball and tournament week at the auditorium was his favorite week of the year. He also loved to fish, hunt, snowmobile, golf, play pool and ride his Harley with family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Crosspoint Church, 1476 Broadway, Bangor, Maine on Thursday, January 31, 2019. Visiting will be at 5:00 p.m. with a service at 6:00 p.m., there will be refreshments immediately following. Interment will be in the spring at Snow’s Corner Cemetery, Fuller Road, Hermon, Maine. Those who wish to honor Clark, in lieu of flowers, may make gifts in his memory to Bangor Christian School’s Athletics. Clark’s dream was to someday see a first class gymnasium on campus at Bangor Christian Schools.
