BANGOR - Claire Barbara (Besserer) Simons, 85, died on January 25, 2018 after a long battle with Pneumonia. She was born March 2, 1932, in South Hadley Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Theresa and Percy Besserer.
In 1950 Claire married Gale Simons who later passed away from cancer in 1982. She was a full time mother and later became a school lunch cook in Chicopee Massachusetts where she spent most of her life. Claire moved to Ellsworth, Maine where she lived for almost 20 years. Claire never remarried and was the mother of four Boys, Gary, Bruce, Scott, and Jeff Simons, and acted as “Mom” to many others. She will be missed by us and by all who knew her.
A private service will be held in Bangor. Claire will be buried in South Hadley Massachusetts in the spring with her late husband Gale, with a private ceremony.
