BREWER – Charles J. DeRoche, 81, passed away Monday, July 22, 2013, at his residence after a brief illness. Charles was born March 17, 1932, in Bangor, the son of the late Cyril and Philomene (Lozier) DeRoche.
Charles served in the U.S. Army and worked for the Bangor Daily News for 43 years. He enjoyed his retirement and spending time with family and friends. Charles loved to play his guitar and sing country songs, and watching cowboy shows. He was a loving husband, father, and, grandfather.
Charles is survived by three daughters, “Charlies Angel’s”, Christine Snow and her husband, Larry, Carolyn Bernardini and her husband Kevin, and Cheryl DeRoche and her fiancée Anthony Cyr; grandson, Ryan Servisky and his wife, Lexi; two sisters, Anna Butera and Mary Arisimeek; two step daughters, Gayle LeBritton and Diane Robbins; and several nieces and nephews; he held a special place in his heart for his niece Karen Arisimeek who was like a daughter to him; special friend, Elvis who would take him to LaBrees Bakery for donuts and to the Eagles Club. He was predeceased by his first wife, Carlene, and his second wife, Pearl; brothers, George, Donald, Sandy, Stanley, and Edward.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, July 25, 2013, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John Catholic Church, 207 York St., Bangor. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at, 1090 N. Main St., Brewer, following the interment.
