Bruce S. Crawford

Bruce Crawford, passed away July 4, 2025 at home with his wife and family by his side. He was born in Bangor, June 28, 1947 the son of Charles and Natalie (Hilchey) Crawford.
Bruce attended Old Town schools, then enlisted in the US Army. After basic training he was deployed to Vietnam for a tour. After his discharge from the Army, he joined the Army Guard.
He was an active member of the Vietnam Vet group, and was fortunate to visit the Vietnam Veteran Wall, along with his fellow soldiers and friends.
In 1976, he married his soul mate, Susan He then went to work for Jordan Meats until its closing, then worked for Carl Smith Foods. Bruce enjoyed hunting with his brother and two sons. He was a very gifted and talented artistic and enjoyed oil painting, and wood carving. Bruce possessed a gifted way of bringing humor to any situation.
Surviving are, his wife, Susan of 48 years; two daughters, Heidi Crawford and partner, Chris King, and Tracy Hawes; two sons, Bruce Crawford and partner Elleeta, and Michael Martin and his wife, Trish; a brother, Christopher Crawford and wife, Kelly; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Martin; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren
He was predeceased by two sons, Troy Crawford in 2013 and Robert Martin in 2021.
A graveside service with military honors will be held 11 am Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Mt Hope Cemetery, Bangor. Relatives and friends are invited to meet at 10:45 am at the Superintendent's Lodge, 1048 State St., Bangor.
Those wishing to remember Bruce in a special way, may contribute in his memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN. 38105.
