Briana "Bri" Field

Bangor

Briana "Bri" Georgenna Field, 34, of Bangor, passed away peacefully and painlessly on November 2, 2026, several days following a motor vehicle accident. Bri was given the best medical care and attention at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, and was continuously surrounded by their family, friends and loved ones in the days before they passed.

Bri was born an only child to Vanessa and Dennis Field on October 21, 1992, at Parkview Hospital in Brunswick, Maine. They graduated from John Bapst High School in 2011. Bri went on to study Veterinary Technology at University of Maine Augusta, where they earned an Associate's degree in the spring of 2016 and a Bachelor's degree in the fall of 2016. Bri started their career at Penobscot Veterinary Services in 2016, and after a brief time working at Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, they returned to the PVS crew. Bri worked at Eastern Maine Emergency Veterinary Clinic caring for emergent and post-surgical patients for a time as well.

Bri was a gifted writer; they enjoyed playing video games and spending time with friends and family. They loved animals-they loved animals so much. Especially black cats. They were incredibly smart and quick-witted. They loved to tell little jokes to make everyone smile. Bri will be remembered not only for their humor, but for their kindness, their generosity and their willingness to always help. They will be remembered for the way their face lit up when you walked into the room, their quiet hand on your shoulder, and for their beautiful smile. Bri made everyone feel seen and loved.

Even at the very end Bri continued to give; in a final act of incredible kindness, Bri was able to help save the lives of others by being an organ donor.

Bri is survived by their father, Dennis Field, a close friend, Erin Chabe, their partner, Ziggy Schutz, numerous family and friends who loved them, and their loving teammates at PVS. They were pre-deceased by their mother, Vanessa Field, in 2016, and multiple beloved cats, including a lifelong companion named Mokie.
