Bernard Hall

April 4, 1950 — July 4, 2025

Oakland, Maine - Bernard "Bernie" N. Hall, 75, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 4, 2025, at a Waterville Hospital. He was born April 4, 1950, in Bangor, the son of Maynard M. and Muriel F. (Degrasse) Hall.

Bernie graduated from Hampden Academy, he was a working student at the University of Maine Farmington and received his Bachelors Degree by paying his own way through. Bernie worked as a teacher for a while but decided to change his career. He later became a USDA inspector of meat processing plants, and eventually became the lead USDA Compliance Officer for the State of Maine.

He never married or had children, but he took to his nieces and nephews like they were his own children, he was always there to give them guidance and love. Bernie always loved learning about science, the universe and medical pathology. When the digital world came around, he learned all he could and hooked up many useful apparatuses to his home, car and self. He loved his technology, another thing that brought him great joy was his annual Hall Family Reunions that he hosted at his home for many years, our entire family will miss him greatly, he did so much for all of us and for that we can't repay him. As Bernie would say, "Hope springs eternal".

Surviving are his only sister, Mary P. Reynolds; brothers, John Hall and his significant other, Rhoda, and George Hall and his wife, Terry; nieces, Cheryl Briggs, Wendy (Elwell) Hamel, Mary Hall and her husband, John, Christina (Hall) and her husband, Robert "BJ" Moody, Heather (Hall) Neal and her husband, Jonathan, Laura Hall, and Rhonda; nephews, Nate Hall and his wife, Heather, and Jerome; great nieces, Ashley, Carli and her significant other, Trevor, Kelsey, Alicia, Theresa, Jade, Ashley A., Michelle and her son, Sebastian, and Kristina; great nephews, Caleb, Cullen, Paul, Michael and his wife Jessica and their son, Michael Jr (Deuce) also surviving are his very close friends, Mark and Roxanne, Bruce, Todd and Dodie, Donny and Dorrie, Diana and Austin Fletcher and their children, "Bernie's buddies" Evan and Ian- all of whom the family would like to give a special thank you for being so good to Bernie through the years and to Diana and Austin for being there with him in his time of need.
