Franklin - Allan E. Jamison Sr., 80, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, surrounded by the love of family and the promise of eternal life.
Born on August 2, 1945, in Rumford, Maine, Allan was the son of Fay Jamison and Lavina Buote Jamison. He was raised in the Rumford and Roxbury area, where he developed the strong work ethic, humility, and love of family that would define his life. Growing up in western Maine, he learned the value of hard work and carried those lessons with him throughout his life.
Allan proudly served his country in the United States military before beginning a distinguished career with the Maine State Police. As a Maine State Trooper, he dedicated himself to serving and protecting the people of Maine with integrity, professionalism, and compassion. Following his retirement from the Maine State Police, Allan continued his commitment to public service through his work with the Penobscot County Sheriff's Department.
While Allan was proud of his military and law enforcement service, his greatest source of pride was always his family. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Joyce, and a loving father to Allan E. Jamison Jr., Todd Jamison and wife Kim, and Mark Jamison and wife Richelle. He treasured time spent with his family and especially looked forward to traveling to Virginia to visit his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly.
Known to many as a gentle giant, Allan possessed a rare combination of strength, kindness, and quiet humility. He never sought recognition for himself and was happiest when helping others. He loved the simple pleasures of life, working the blueberry fields during Maine summers, tending his garden, traveling, sharing stories, and spending time with family and friends. His warm smile, easy laugh, and genuine interest in others made everyone feel welcome in his presence.
Whether wearing the uniform of a soldier, a Maine State Trooper, or a deputy sheriff, Allan understood that his highest calling was serving God, loving his family, and helping others. He leaves behind a legacy of service, faith, and character that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
He was predeceased by his parents, Fay and Lavina Jamison; his sister and brother-in-law, Rosalie and Raymond Chimel; his brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Mildred Jamison; and his sister and brother-in-law, Rita and Walter Cunningham.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce; his sons, Allan E. Jamison Jr., Todd Jamison and wife Kim, and Mark Jamison and wife Richelle; his grandchildren, Amanda Jamison, Lindsey Hickman and husband Skyler, Sara Jamison, Bethany Jamison, Brynn Jellison, Myah Jellison, Danica Blauvelt and husband Jon, Aaron Meierdirk - Satinsky and wife Amanda, all whom he loved dearly; many great-grandchildren; along with many extended family members, dear friends, former colleagues, and as well as many special nieces and nephews.
Though we grieve his passing, we rejoice in the assurance that Allan has heard the words he faithfully lived for: "Well done, good and faithful servant." His family finds comfort in knowing that he is now at peace in the presence of his Savior and reunited with loved ones who have gone before him.
His life was a blessing, his example a gift, and his memory a treasure that will live on in all who knew and loved him.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." - Matthew 25:23
