Aleta Williams

August 18, 1944 — November 13, 2025

Aleta K. 'DeeDee' Williams, 81, wife of the late Reginald H. Williams Jr., died peacefully at home on Nov. 13, 2025. She was born August 18, 1944, in Presque Isle, ME., to Albert J. and Miriam P. (Nichol) Hutchinson. DeeDee attended Carmel schools and received her diploma from Bangor High in 1975.

DeeDee married Reggie on July 10, 1965 and was a stay-at-home mom until her youngest was a teenager. At that time, she began her career in retail. For many years, she was the manager of Rines Co. at the Bangor Mall. She went on to work for Anderson Little, Sears, Sam's Club and Olan Mills.

DeeDee loved holidays spent with family, the annual Mother's Day trip to greenhouses for flowers, attending floral arrangement classes with her daughter Kim, and house projects of any kind. She especially loved being 'Nan' to her granddaughter, Haley, whom she watched until she entered Preschool.

DeeDee is survived by her daughter, Kimberley Gould and husband, Robert, of Bangor; son, Almon T. Stevens Jr. of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren, Haley Gould of Old Town, Almon T. Stevens III of Sabattus and Shawn Stevens of Lewiston; brother, Jimmy Hutchinson of St. Albans; sister in-law, Marilyn Hutchinson of Sanford; many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Kathy Fitzpatrick, Doris Young, and Donna and Ron Crane.

In addition to her parents, DeeDee was predeceased by her husband, Reggie; sister, Judith McBeth; brothers, Harry and David Hutchinson; grandson, Jeremy Stevens; nephew, Danny Hutchinson; niece, Lisa Pangburn; and first husband Almon Stevens.

Special thanks to Kris, Brenda, and Christine from St. Joes Home Health & Hospice who provided exceptional care, to Donna at LovingTouch for arranging resources on short notice, and to Sherry, Judy, and Clay who spent time with DeeDee, allowing her to remain in her home.

At DeeDee's request, there will be a private graveside service in the spring.
