Alan Robert Strout, 67, died unexpectedly at his home in Kenduskeag on June 30, 2025. He was the son of Robert E. and Barbara Evelyn (Trafton) Strout.
Alan was born May 2, 1958. He graduated from Central High School in Corinth, Maine, and received his degree in accounting from Husson University. He worked at Reid's Confectionary and the University of Maine. In 1979, he married his high school sweetheart and best friend, Kathie. They were married for 46 years and raised 3 incredible sons. For the last 10 years, he became a snowbird, spending winters in Sarasota, Florida. His goal was to never shovel snow again.
Alan loved his family and baseball, probably in that order. He was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan and was known for his ever-present orange shirt. He coached youth league baseball and high school baseball for many years and he loved instilling in others his love of the game. He touched many lives in tireless service to his family, community, and church. He was quick-witted and always ready with a dad joke.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Katherine (Brown) Strout, are his sons, Christopher, and his wife, Amber, of Bar Harbor, Matthew and his wife, Katie, of Riverton, Utah, and Michael of Saco; his grandchildren, Benson, Camden, Amelia and Lane; his sister, Frances and her husband, Robert, of Bangor; many nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.
Friends and relatives are welcome to call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Brooking-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2025 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 639 Grandview Ave, Bangor.
