Bangor - Adella E Neill, 88, passed away on May 1, 2026, at home with her husband and children by her side. She was born April 3, 1938, in Brewer, Maine, the daughter of Roland D. and Carmelita M. (Sanborn) Booker.
Adella did a lot of hiking with her husband and children in Bar Harbor. When we came across ladders to climb, she had to be coaxed into climbing them. She was scared, but she finally made it to the top of the mountain.
When Adella retired, she and her husband traveled the United States, stopping at many national parks. Whenever they came across an animal park, they had to stop and visit. This was Adella's favorite thing to see. She loved animals.
In 1956, she married the love of her life, Thomas S. Neill, who survives her. They were married for 69 years. She is also survived by four children, Thomas W. Neill of Bangor, Stephen W. Neill and his wife, Sherry of Clifton, David E. Neill of Winthrop, and Karen J. Neill of Bangor; thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Adella was predeceased by her parents, one grandchild, and four sisters. Adella was a very devoted wife and mother to her four children. She will be dearly missed.
A graveside service will be held at a later date at Lakeview Cemetery, Hampden. A date and time will be announced.
Those who wish to remember Adella in a special way may make gifts in her memory to Sarah's House of Maine, 346 Main Rd, Holden, Maine 04429.
