Obituary for Theresa Ann Winchester (Graves)
BANGOR - Theresa Ann (Graves) Winchester, 71, died Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at a local hospital. She was born August 13, 1951, in Old Town, the daughter of the late Alphena (Cyr) Proudman and John Graves.
Theresa attended Bangor High School and worked at N. H. Bragg and Webber Oil where she met her late husband, Larry Winchester. She enjoyed taking day trips and spending time with her family, and caring for her home.
Throughout her lifetime, Theresa was a wonderful caregiver. She was kind, thoughtful and very organized. She was also a survivor. Each day would be a challenge she faced with strength and perseverance. In her own way, she had the heart of an adventurer that led her to unexpected highlights including flying a plane and a trip to Paris. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Theresa was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence “Larry” Winchester. She is survived by her favorite and only son, Brian Lee and his wife, Andrea; domestic partner, William “Bill” Donahue; sister-in-law, Patty Reed and her husband, Dale; aunt, Jeannette Soule; cousin, Betty Lufkin and her husband, Gerald; and a large extended family.
The family gives special thanks to the medical and nursing staff at the ER and in particular, to nurses, Michelle and Lauren in the ICU at Eastern Maine Medical Center for their tender loving care of Theresa.
Funeral Prayers and the Rite of Committal will be prayed at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, May 18, 2023, at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor, immediately following the service.
