Obituary for Roberta A. Seavey (Seavey)
Bangor - Roberta A. Seavey, 77, died peacefully on May 20, 2023, surrounded by her family at Westgate Center. She was born May 22, 1945, in Bangor, the daughter of Robert F. and H. Maxine (Skillin) Seavey.
Roberta graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1963. She was employed for many years at Eastern Trust Bank of Bangor, later retiring from the Canteen. Roberta was a long time active and devoted member of the Hammond Street Congregational Church. She was a member of the Church choir for over 50 years. Roberta was chairman of the Church's Annual Holiday Fair for many years. She was an active participant in the Church's coffee hour and bean suppers. Roberta loved gardening and had wonderful flowers, vegetables and especially her raspberry bushes. Like her mother did for many years, Roberta volunteered at Phillip Strickland.
Surviving are her four cousins, Judy Lee Skillin of Medfield, MA, D. Michael Skillin, and his wife, Roberta, of Dorchester, MA, Nancy J. Skillin of Medfield, MA, Mark C. Skillin and his wife, Helen, of Wallingford, CT. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Eleanor. The Skillin Family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Westgate Center for the wonderful care Roberta received.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 24,2023 at Brookings- Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday May 25, 2023 at Hammond Street Congregational Church, 28 High St, Bangor, with the Rev. Gary W. Bagley, Pastor, and Rev. Linette C. George, officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor following the service.
