Obituary for Richard "Dick" A. Inman
BANGOR – Richard “Dick” A. Inman, 78, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2023, at his home. He was born October 13, 1944, in Bangor, the son of Paul R. and Rita E. (Bourgoin) Inman.
Dick was raised in Bangor and graduated from Bangor High School, the Class of 1962. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. While in the service he married his high school sweetheart, Nancy McKenney. After serving, he graduated from Husson College with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Dick owned and operated Northeast Business Forms, Inc. for 25 years.
Dick was a member of the Bangor Jaycees and a lifetime member of the Bangor Elks Lodge, #244. He was also a Penobscot Valley Country Club member where he loved golf. He loved basketball, both playing, and coaching. He took great pleasure in coaching his sons and other youth in the community. Dick treasured being with his family and never needed a reason to gather. He also enjoyed fishing, was an avid cribbage player, and had fun traveling with his wife and close friends. Much of his retirement was spent watching his grandchildren excel in sports and other activities.
Surviving Dick, in addition to his loving wife of 57 years, Nancy, are his brother David Inman and his wife Debbie; his son Marc and his wife Tammy; his son Scott Inman and his wife Cheryl; a very special niece, Anne (McKenney) Chapman and her husband David; grandchildren Ryan Apigian, Lt. Alexander Inman, Sophia Inman, Brianna Russo, Gabriel Veilleux, and Olivia Veilleux; many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Dick was predeceased by his parents and his brother Robert Inman.
Family and friends are welcome to call Friday, March 3, 2023, from 4 – 6 p.m. at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in the spring at a date and time to be announced.
