Obituary for Mary Cameron Golden
BANGOR - Mary C. Golden, 76, died after a short illness April 1, 2023 at Hibbards Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Dover Foxcroft, Maine. She was born November 7, 1946 in Bangor, the daughter of Daniel F. and Mary E. (Cameron) Golden.
Mary graduated from John Bapst High School, Class of 1964. After graduation, she worked for the New England Telephone Company, following in her father’s and older sisters’ footsteps. Mary, however made this a lifelong career. After early retirement, Mary enjoyed life by the water - whether at her home on Green Lake, in Florida or in Bar Harbor. Mary was a “people person”. She enjoyed celebrating with family and friends, especially those from her John Bapst days. One can easily envision Mary riding in her Mazda Miata convertible or PT Cruiser down Route 1A. Mary was very proud of her Irish heritage and was a staunch democrat.
Mary was predeceased by her parents and a sister Margaret Thibault and her husband Stephen. She is survived by a sister Norah Predaris and her husband George of Exeter, NH; 2 nieces Kathleen Thibault and her husband Matt Spooner and their children of Dover Foxcroft, Nicole Hopley and her husband Michael and their children of Rye, NH and 1 nephew Paul Predaris and his children of Rye, NH; many cousins.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 10 – 11:30 am Monday April 10, 2023 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 at Saint Paul the Apostle Parish John’s Catholic Church 217 York Street, Bangor. The Rite of Committal will follow at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor. The family requests that donations be made in her memory to the Bangor Humane Society, 693 Mt Hope Avenue, Bangor ME 04401.
