Obituary for Emma Caroline Thibodeau (Mooney)
Emma C. Thibodeau, 94, passed away March 9, 2023 at her home in Kenduskeag. She was born in Rumford on August 20, 1928, to parents John Andrew Mooney and Mary Margret (Bradley) Mooney.
Emma was born in Rumford Maine and then shortly after birth moved to Prince Edward Island where she would spend the next 18 years before returning to Rumford. She married Albert Thibodeau in 1947 and raised four children, Robert, Patricia, John, and Susan, and enjoyed 49 years together before Alberts death in 1996. Retiring from Diamond International after 29 years, Emma enjoyed time spent with grandchildren, and spent her last six years living with her daughter Susan and husband, Bruce. She attended Calvary Chapel in Orrington.
Emma is survived by her children; Robert Thibodeau and his wife, Pam, Patricia Rinaldo and her husband, Richard, John Thibodeau and his wife, Deirdre, and Susan Ames and her husband, Bruce; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by her parents; siblings; and one great granddaughter, Emma Thibodeau.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctors and nurses of Grant 6, NL EMMC, and the nurses of Gentiva Hospice.
A memorial service will be held 2pm, Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St. Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St. Bangor, immediately following the service. Gifts in her honor may be made to the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital, 22 Bramhall St. Portland, ME. 04102 http://www.bbch.org/donate Interment will be held in the Spring of 2023 in Rumford.
