ELVA W. STEWART - ORONO
Elva W. Stewart, 101, passed away peacefully on April 19th, 2023. Elva was born on April 2, 1922, the daughter of Millard Wright and Effie (Don) Wright.
Elva graduated from Hodgdon High School, class of 1940, before working at the Houlton Trust Co. and Fleet Bank for 26 years, retiring in 1983. Elva enjoyed 62 years of marriage to her husband, Floyd Stewart, before his death. Together, they raised their son, Harold (Hal), whom Elva loved with all of her heart. Elva is survived by her son, Harold F. Stewart, his fiance Carolyn Butler; grandson, Scott Stewart and wife, Terri; granddaughter, Amy Stewart; great granddaughter, Nicole Anderson and her husband, Dillon; sisters, Geneta Anderson and Joyce Dumore. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter in law, Marilyn; sisters, Laversa Crawford, Mavis Rockwell; and brothers, Gordon and Philip Wright; and her special cat, Giz.
She enjoyed watching Golf and was especially a fan of Arnold Palmer since meeting him in 2005. She was a devoted member of the Hermon Baptist Church.
A private memorial service will be held for family members on May 8th at the Linneus Baptist Church and Cemetery.
