Obituary for Alice Jane Shoppe
HAMPDEN – Alice J. Shoppe, 87, passed away peacefully March 29, 2023, at her home. She was born April 21, 1935, in Unity, the daughter of Wallace and Lena Chase.
Alice was an avid gardener, tending to her many flower gardens, while appreciating the chipmunks, birds, and other animals. She also enjoyed nature; morning rides, going into the country; often the roads less traveled. She loved to laugh and enjoyed holding conversations with people.
In addition to her parents, Alice was predeceased by her husband of over 51 years, Herbert Shoppe. Surviving Alice, are her children, Robert Shoppe, of Hampden, Paula Carns and her husband, Jeffrey, of Champaign, Illinois, and Susan Loughborough and her husband, Joseph, of Austin, Texas; and step-granddaughter, Amber Loughborough, of California.
