Obituary for Barbara J. White

Barbara Joan (Parker) White, 91, passed away peacefully on the morning of November 3rd 2016 while being cared for at the Brewer Center for Health and Rehabilitation. She was born in Fort Fairfield, Maine on January 5th 1925, the daughter of James Elvin and Margaret (Cummings) Parker-Smith.

Barbara graduated from Presque Isle High, became a beautician and a licensed practical nurse. She was employed at Gould Memorial Hospital in Presque Isle for several years before marrying Bernard White Sr. from Wade Maine.

She is survived by her husband Bernard White Sr., her sister Isabel (Parker) Haines, her five sons Gregory Wieder and his wife Ann, Bernard White Jr. and his wife Susan, Stephen Wieder and his wife Paule, David White and his wife Bonnie, Bobby White and his wife Cathy and her daughter Sandy (White) Simpson and her husband Brian Simpson. 12 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her father James Elvin Parker, her stepfather Granville Smith and her Mother Margaret (Cummings) Parker-Smith, four brothers John Parker, Hollis, Bob and Dick Smith and two sisters Helen Smith and Mary (Parker) Kakos and her still born baby Timothy White.

Barbara touched the lives of many through her life in her work as a nurse, raising 6 children and opening her home and her heart to many over the years. Her faith was paramount and she spent many hours praying for so many. Even at 91 she was still sewing and made bibs and aprons that were donated to Hospice. She was a kind and loving lady who will be surely missed by many.
