Condolence: Dear Gary, Holly, and Family, Much sympathy on the passing of dear Barbara. You all are such a big part of our childhood memories of 4 Garland Street and Nana and Boppy. As years passed, our adult rememberances increased also as we all saw you at various times at the funeral home and around town. Then when Mindy Hull had wonderful Mrs. Grotton as a teacher, and Linda had sweet Holly as a student, even more memories were made. Please know we are thinking of you with love and much sympathy, The Brookings Family💝

Condolence From: Allison Valley
Condolence: Dear Gary, Holly, Jim and Sweet Caroline- My greatest sadness when I heard the news was that one of the true "greats" is gone. She was tough and stoic through her illness and through life. I admired Barbara so much for her strength, courage, and positive attitude. I think the only time that I did not see her smile was when she got excited watching Caroline play basketball. I will miss her cheering and saying "NO!" when the game was not going our way. And of course, no one could wear a hat like Barbara could! Thoughts, love, and hugs to you all. The Valleys

Condolence: Gary, Holly, Jim, Caroline ~ please know my heart and prayers are with you always. We have been blessed with a long, enduring friendship that has spanned nearly 35 years. You all have been very significant in my life since I was a young girl ~ especially Barb. She was always a beacon of light and love for me. I so enjoyed our often lengthy conversations filled with lots of wisdom and laughter. I have so many wonderful memories of her that I will cherish. My message to her is simple, Godspeed my lovely friend. I will miss you tremendously, however, the love remains for all time. To you Gary and Holly, Jim and Caroline we will find comfort in that love and friendship which is Barb's gift to us. Love you all. May peace and serenity surround you. Jeanie

Condolence: Gary, Holly & family, Receiving this sad news today was such a downer. Barbara and Gary....utterly inseparable, and one of the most attractive and complementary couples we all know. What a beautiful and gentle spirit was Barbara Smith. There was an aura of peace and goodness she always radiated, through her sweet smile, kinds words and calm, loving demeanor. How blest WE your friends are, for having known and loved her. May you be comforted by the memories and the support of those so saddened by her passing. That Barbara may rest in peace and arise in glory. Holding you all prayerfully in mind. With love, Mark Higgins

Through the years those characteristics never changed despite the challenges she faced. Her grace and courage leave a lasting impression on us all. May all in the Smith family be sustained by the memory of this remarkable lady, loving wife, mother and grandmother.
