Obituary for Philip Maurice Flewelling

Philip Flewelling, 73, died Thursday March 19, 2015 at Eastern Maine Medical Center from complications due to Myasthenia Gravis. He was the son of Benjamin and Beulah Flewelling, born October 17th, 1941 in Houlton.

Philip is survived by his wife, Gladys, of 43 years; his one daughter, Theresa and husband Terry Snowman; and his four sons, Randy and wife Allison Flewelling, Rob and wife Stella Flewelling, Dale and wife Amy Flewelling, and Russell and wife Chantel Flewelling; as well as fifteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, five sisters and two brothers.

Philip graduated Valedictorian from Winterport High School, Class of 1960. He enlisted in the United States Army on his 18th birthday and honorably served his country for 3 years. Philip married Gladys Butler in Winterport on February 19th,1972. He worked the last 20 years for Common Sense Housing in Eddington. He was a very loving and gentle man, was an outstanding and loving husband, father, papa, brother, mentor, and friend.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm, Sunday, March 22, 2015 at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 45 Western Ave, Hampden with Pastor Aaron Martin of Winterport Baptist Church, officiating. Family and friends are invited to call 1 pm until time of service.
