Obituary for Leonard Leo Michaud

HERMON AND CARIBOU – Leonard L. Michaud, 77, died September 15, 2014, after a courageous battle at the Cary Medical Center, surrounded by his family. He was born December 29, 1936, in Caribou, the son of Frank L. and Sophie M. (Michaud) Michaud.
Leonard attended the Caribou schools, and was a member of the Maine Army National Guard for 9 years. He worked in construction, and operated his own snow plowing business. He was a maintenance man at the Black Bear Inn for 10 years. Leonard enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at camp. He will be greatly missed for his amazing sense of humor and words of wisdom.
Leonard is survived by three sons; Jeffrey Michaud and his wife, Debra of Caribou, Jesse Michaud and his wife, Michele of Standish, and Kirk Michaud of Hermon; a daughter, Peggy Nichols and her husband, Tracey of Caribou; two step daughters, Michelle Labbe and her husband, Mark of Waterville and Paula Walker of Broadway, VA; grandchildren, Angie Marquis of Caribou, Jennifer Labbe of Frazee, MN, Casey and Michelle Nichols of Caribou, Kyle, Ryan and Anthony Michaud of Standish; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Anna Quist of Auburn and Leona Petroski of Enfield CT; brother, Arthur Michaud and his wife, Joan of Caribou; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Leonard was predeceased by his wife Ivanette Michaud, four brothers, George, Edward, Guy and William Michaud; and two sisters, Iva Sparks and Alice Lagasse.
