Obituary for Philip Roland Dyer

Philip Roland Dyer
Philip R. Dyer, 80, passed away November 20, 2016, at a Brewer healthcare facility. He was born May 14, 1936 in Maine.

A longtime resident of Bangor, Phil spent his early years working at the Dow Air Force Base and then spent many years working at Ryder Truck Rentals. It was at Ryder where he met the life of his life, Patricia. They were married for over 50 years. Phil enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid ice fisherman, enjoyed Farmall tractors, and riding his four-wheeler to camp during the summer. He would ride his 4 wheeler to camp even in the winter if his friend opened the road. Phil was a kind and gentle man, enjoying the simple things in life - a phone call or visit would make his day.

Surviving is a brother, George Butler and wife Roberta of Haines City, FL; sister Raylene Drapeau and husband Kenneth of NH; an aunt Liz Dyer of Glenburn; a cousin Dorothy Gould of Levant; and several nieces, grandchildren, and extended family members. He was predeceased by his mother, Dorothy Vandergift.

Graveside services will be held 10 AM, Saturday, November 26, 2016, at Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeview Road, Glenburn, with the Rev. Grace Bartlett, pastor of the First Congregational Church of Brewer, officiating. Those who wish to remember Philip in a special way may make gifts in his memory to the Brewer Rehab & Living Center, 74 Parkway South, Brewer, Maine 04412.
