Obituary for Keith Loring Gove

Hampden - Keith Gove, 85, died peacefully on October 10, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was born in Wentworth, New Hampshire in 1933, the son of the late Lewis and Pearl (Terpening) Gove.

Keith was a graduate of Wentworth High School. He and the love of his life, Vivian, were married 54 years until she passed in 2011. Together they had three children; Steven of Hermon, Maine married to Jayne (Murphy) Gove, David of Cumberland married to Lisa (Voelker) Gove, and Allen of Boston married to Brad Blake.

Keith fought in the Korean War while serving in the United States Army, and worked at Lane Construction Corporation for 38 years. In retirement, he was known as ‘Grampa in the Green House’ to grandchildren, Morgan (Gove) Cousins married to Chris Cousins, Casey Gove, Ben Gove and Christina Gove. In January, he became a great-grandpa to Morgan and Chris’ son, Lucas. Keith was also part of the trio known as ‘The Three Wisemen’ who donated countless volunteer hours at the Hampden Congregational Church. Keith enjoyed fishing, gardening, baking homemade bread, doting on Squeaky-the-cat, and perfecting his ladder golf skills.

He was predeceased by his siblings Leo, Leigh and Donnie, and leaves behind sister June Winsor and a brother Carl.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 45 Western Avenue, Hampden.
