Obituary for Blodwen "Bea" E. Treworgy (Ellis)

Blodwen “Bea” E. Treworgy, 88, passed away on October 6, 2018, at a Bangor hospital after a brief illness. She was born December 8, 1929, in Brownville Maine the daughter of John P. and Mary A. (Mitchell) Ellis.

After graduating from Brownville Junction High School in 1947 she attended Beal Business College in Bangor. Bea worked for Kemper Insurance before going on to work at Bangor Adjustment Service for the next 40 plus years. She became a licensed insurance adjuster and was an active member of the Northern Maine Insurance Adjuster’s Association. She finished her working career at Bangor Neon. Bea and Larry enjoyed many years snowmobiling in northern Maine and dancing many Saturday evenings at the Penobscot Valley Country Club in Orono before his passing in 1996. Bea was an avid bowler and enjoyed weekly competition with friends and family at the Bangor-Brewer Bowling Lanes. In her retirement she enjoyed volunteering in the office of the Ellen Leach Home where she had lived for the past 8 years in Brewer. She greatly enjoyed the many friendships she made at the Ellen Leach Home. More than anything she loved her family and she was very proud of her granddaughters and great-granddaughters, always looking forward to attending their school and sports events, birthday and holiday gatherings.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Larry; and sisters, Janette Elsemore and Winifred Bissell. She is survived by her son Jim Ellis and his wife Brandy of Brewer; her sister, Betty Cassidy of Titusville, FL; her aunt Roberta Rich of Dover-Foxcroft, granddaughters, Samantha McVay and her fiancé’ Forrest Mulheron of Bangor, Emily Maniscalco and her husband Tristin of Lincolnville, and Michela Malchiodi of Brewer; three great-granddaughters, Lindsey McVay, Leah McVay, and Rory Maniscalco. She was very fond and close to the Elsemore family including Muriel, Tom, Carol, Roberta and their families. She had many more very special nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family across the country.

Friends may call from 10-11 AM, Tuesday, October 9, at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 S. Main Street, Brewer, where funeral services will begin at 11 AM. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments in the Reception Rooms of the Brewer Chapel following the service. Interment will be at a later date at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer. Gifts in her memory may be made to the Bangor Humane Society, 693 Mt. Hope Avenue, Bangor, ME 04401.
