Bangor and Brewer - Geraldine May (Young) Look, 97, died September 11, 2018 at a Bangor nursing facility. She was born November 11, 1920 in Brewer, the daughter of Howard M. and Ruby G. (Worcester) Young.

Geraldine graduated from Brewer High School Class of 1938 and received her Bachelor’s degree from St. Joseph Hospital nursing school. She was a long time member and Sunday school teacher at Glad Tidings Church in Bangor. Geraldine loved cooking and entertaining her family, especially on Thanksgiving and Christmas. She enjoyed many hobbies such as crocheting, traveling, painting, drawing and writing. However, having read hundreds of books, Geraldine enjoyed reading the most. She worked hard her whole life, finishing her career at Westgate Manor, retiring in her early 70’s.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Carroll E. Look in 1989, her brother, Melvin Young, and a sister, Marlene Grover. Geraldine is survived by her son, Marvin D. Look and his wife, Mary Ann of Damariscotta; three daughters, Sharon C. Look of Brewer, Charlotte A. Dunifer and her husband, Bruce of Hermon, and Darnell Salls and her husband, Kerry of Brewer; seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Gloria Shaw of Bangor and Beryl Barker of Bangor; foster sister, Gloria Kennedy and her husband, Lawrence of Harrington.

Relatives and friends are invited to call from 5-7:00 p.m. Friday, September 14, 2018 at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 South Main St., Brewer. A graveside service will be held 2:00pm Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the Mailey Hill Cemetery, Station Road, Columbia, Maine. Condolences to the family may be expressed at Brookingssmith.com.
