Obituary for Katherine Simpson Waters (Bradshaw)

HAMPDEN – Katherine Waters, 92, died July 20, 2018 at her residence. She was born and raised in Sudbury, Massachusetts, the daughter of Forrest and Katherine Bradshaw. She married D. Lee Waters in 1948. After nearly thirty years of military life together and raising five children, she and Lee settled in California where they lived until they moved to Maine twelve years ago.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, D. Lee Waters; a sister, Ann Maker; and grandsons, Benjamin and William Waters. She is survived by her children, Daniel L. Waters Jr. and wife, Pam of New Hampshire, Elizabeth Cofer and husband, Chris of California, Dianne Ballard and husband, Steve of Newburgh, Susan Waters and husband, Bob of California, Scott Waters and wife, Theresa of California; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren with another expected in January; and a brother, Jack Bradshaw of New Hampshire.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, August 16, 2018 at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 45 Western Avenue, Hampden. Relatives and friends are invited to share conversation and refreshments at The Manor House at Avalon Village, 50 Foxglove Dr, Hampden, immediately following the service, Thursday. Private interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Hampden. Those who wish to remember Katherine in a special way may make gifts in her memory to Lafayette Family Cancer Center c/o EMHS Foundation, P.O.
