MSgt. Eric A. Cole, Jr.,29, passed away unexpectedly July 13, 2018. He was born in Bangor November 28, 1988 the son of Eric A. Cole, Sr. and Melinda Brawn.
Eric graduated from Hermon High School, class of 2007. He began his career in the military enlisting even before graduation. Upon graduation he entered the Air National Guard. He rose to the military rank of Master Sergeant as a Logistics Management Specialist. Eric was a classic American Airman. He loved his country, his state and his unit. He had passion for people and will be deeply missed.
In his personal life, Eric enjoyed physical activity and was a fitness instructor in the community. He loved spending time playing and adventuring with his family. He was an amazing, devoted father and stepfather.
Surviving are his father and step-mother Eric and Diana; his mother Melinda Brawn; sister Carrie Jordan and husband Jason; fiancé Sarah Thibault and her children Leah and Avery; paternal grandparents Alan and Lois Cole; maternal grandparents Marvin and Judy Brawn; Uncle Clark Cole and wife Brenda and their children Colby, Anthony Cole and wife Laura and their sons; Aunt Michelle Cole; mother of his children Megan Helms; his sons, the three dearest to his heart Aiden, Zachary and Eric III; countless other family and friends.
Eric’s life, while ending far too soon, touched and blessed so many lives with intelligence, humor, strength and above all, endless joy, lifelong love and treasured memories. Eric we will miss you until the end of our days.
A service to celebrate his life will be held 10:30 am Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Cross Point Church, 1476 Broadway, Bangor, where relatives and friends are invited to call 10 am until time of service, following the service all are invited for conversation and refreshments at the church. Committal services with full military honors will be held at 1 pm. Thursday, July 19, at Snows Corner Cemetery, Hermon.
The family wishes that instead of flowers, folks consider a donation in Eric’s memory to Suicide Awareness and Prevention. Checks may be made out to the Eric Cole Jr. Memorial Fund and mailed to Deighan Wealth Advisors, 455 Harlow St., Bangor, ME. 04401.
