Obituary for Frances Nadine ""Nadine"" Hoyt (Hoyt)

F. Nadine Hoyt, 94, died peacefully on June 24, 2018, at home after a period of declining health. She was born December 7, 1923, the daughter of Clarence and Catherine (O’Leary) Hoyt.

After graduating from high school, Nadine embarked on a forty year career in the medical records department of what was then known as the State Hospital, today Dorethea Dix. She retired as a supervisor justifiably proud of the many procedures she had developed over the years. Nadine also took care of her parents and her sisters for many years. In retirement, she used her meticulous organizational skills doing her family’s genealogy and she was also an active and valued member of the Hampden Historical Society.

In addition to her parents, Nadine was predeceased by her sisters Lorraine and Joan Recker, as well as her niece Kathy. Surviving are several cousins in the Rogan and Troop families. Thanks to the caregivers at Loving Touch, including Barbara and Tammy, who helped her stay home.

Graveside memorial services will be held 2 PM, Thursday, June 28, at Pine Grove Cemetery, Hammond Street Extension, Bangor. Gifts in her memory may be made to the Hampden Historical Society, P.O. Box #456, Hampden, ME 04444. A service of the Hampden-Gilpatrick Chapel of Brookings-Smith.
